 The Song and Dancing Group “Krąg” was created in 1969. Its director
and instructor for 25 years was Mrs. Dobrosława Słupińska.
In its repertoire the group has national dances as well as dances
and songs from different regions of Poland.
The main idea of artistic programme is showing the elements of
Polish folklore to resemble the real ones dancing, songs, speech,
musical instruments and costumes are carefully copied with the
cooperation of specialists from different regions.
“Krąg” is an amateur group. Its main members are students and
graduates of School of Complex no 8. The youth talent and vigor give
us strength and charm that is often appreciated. We teach here dance
and song but also national identity, respect towards tradition,
cooperation within group, patriotism and tolerance.
The beauty of Polish folklore is supported by traditional costumes.
The musical group consist of: violins, clarinet, trumpet,
double-bass and other.
The group has been appearing on many national and foreign stages and
was always welcomed enthusiastically.
The group was prized for the
artistic achievements as well as for popularize folklore.
Since 2004, the group is a member of Polish Section International
Conseil of Folklore Association of Art and Festivals (CIOFF).
Today “Krąg” is one to represent Pomeranian Region. Giving concerts
abroad it become
the best ambassador of Polish folk culture.
